    We want to give you a flavour of what to expect at this years event over the next few weeks, we thought a great place to start is with an exciting new addition at the Starley HQ.   We are going to be joined by The Reinge Clinic they are a small clinic from Kenilworth consisting of a husband and wife team (Ian and Gina Reinge). They are unusual in that between them they hold qualifications and training in Physiotherapists, Sport Scientists, Sports Therapists and Clinical Exercise Physiologists.     Starley Network

    We are really please to see that the Starley name has been given pride of place in West Midlands Network rebranding. The newly rebranded Starley Network pulls together existing routes and towpaths, proposed new cycling infrastructure, and new pop-up lanes funded through the Emergency Active Travel Fund. Local authorities have worked closely with TfWM to link their local cycling plans into a region-wide network for the first time, showcasing the true scope of the future cycling network.  There is a long way to go before we have a network as good as Belgium or Holland but at least it’s a start.     Medical Cover

    We hope that this will not be needed, but we will have 2 mobile medics covering either end of the routes this year. Whilst the event’s about making money for the charity’s; we take the rider experience, safety and enjoyment as an equally important part of the day. Ride safe please 🚴🏻‍♂️

    Samuel’s First Sportive

    I started cycling after the 2012 Olympics and watching Bradley Wiggins ride to victory in the Tour de France.  My husband’s initial excitement at me sharing his passion for cycling quickly turned to him trying to reign me in.    And now there’s one more rider in the house to compete with … … our son, Samuel.  Samuel  turned 10 at the beginning of February and he felt he was ready to take part in his first sportive.     I never thought that at the age of 44 I would be buying my first road bike in September 2019, a Liv Avail Advance 3, full carbon, hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless set up, a far cry from my green Raleigh Grifter that I had as a kid.   I have always enjoyed riding a bike but never really had the confidence to ride on the roads.
