We are not a commercial organisation and ensure that 100% of the profit from entry fees go to charity.
This is an event that supports local charities and is non profit making; at present the chairites are some of the hardest hit financially by the crisis we are in. They are having to cancel all of their fundraising events and this will have a huge impact on their finances. To help them through this tough time we would like to be able to give them the money that has already been raised by you and we would encourage you to allow us to donate this.
This year more than ever we can make a difference.
We are going to give away 100 of our beautiful pin badges in a free prize draw, to be in with a chance of winning you don’t have to do anything else other than not request a refund. Anyone who has not requested a refund will go into the draw that will take place on the 2nd May 2020.
We will notify the winners via email.
Although it states in our terms & conditions that in the event of us having to postpone or cancel the event refunds would not be provided. We feel in the current circumstances that it is right that we offer a refund to those who require one*. We want to stress that we do not want any stigma attached to requesting a refund. In the current situation we all find ourselves in we understand that everyone will be in a different financial position.
We would request that everyone else respects this please.
At this stage it would look unlikely that we would be able to hold the event this year, however if this situation changes we would obviously take the opportunity to give an event specifically for riders who do donate their entry. Although this may not be possible. We will always put the safety of riders, volunteers and wider community first though.

You can still support Paddy’s Plea by ordering a home swab kit!
You can become a blood stem cell donor that could lead to the possibility of becoming a match for Paddy or others in his situation. It’s really simple to do; at the event you will fill in a registration form & take a simple mouth swab. If you are aged between 17-55 years old and in general good health then you are eligible. You can order a DIY swab kit head to the Paddy’s plea website

It comprises of three routes: Short (28.6 miles) an accessible ride into the Warwickshire countryside with family appeal, Long (63.2 miles) with undulating roads through Alcester twice with a climb, and Epic(86.5 miles) which extends the Long course to include Dover’s Hill in the Cotswolds.
Last year we raised £13,021! This made it a record year. We have now raised over £29,500 for local good causes so far from the events! We would encourage you to use the Starley Sportive to raise sponsorship for any good cause or charity that is important to you. Please go to our Ride For A Good Cause Page for help and advice on this. Once again we will be donating all our proceeds from the 2020 years event to charities.
