About The Starley Sportive

The Starley Sportive is a cycling sportive in Coventry taking place in February each year. 100% of the proceeds from the event go to charity unlike a lot commercial sportives. The event is organised by Coventry Road Club and helps raise money for local good causes.
The next Starley Sportive is on Sunday 17th February 2019.
We named the event the Starley Sportive to recognise the contributions of Coventry based inventors to the cycling industry John Kemp Starley and James Starley.
You will have a choice of 3 distances short, long and epic (new for 2019). All the entry money for 2019 will go to Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry. The costs to support one child for one week at Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice total £4,200 with care for a day for six children costing £3,600. The 2018 Event raised £7,367.30 for Zoë’s Place and we would really like to exceed that amount in 2019.
We would encourage you to use the event to raise sponsorship for any good cause or charity that is important to you. Please go to our  Ride For A Good Cause Page

“Many thanks for an excellent Sportive today. Very well organised and sign posted, it was interesting to come at familiar roads from a different direction. At £10 it was very good value compared to a commercial sportive !!
Thanks to all involved and to Deeley Group for a magnificent HQ.”

“This was our first Sportive, and wow, how it has sparked something in us to achieve more, challenge ourselves and join the 1000’s of other cyclists who enjoy this ‘feel good’ sport. Feeling humble.”
